Valentine's Day

So last year D and I agreed to never BUY gifts on Valentine's Day, and just make something to give (why would I ever agree to that?!) but I just couldn't help myself this year
I love gift giving!

So I got him a ring to match mine that he got me for Christmas from James Avery it says "My Beloved is Mine & I am Hers" - and then of course, I made him something!
This was so fun!
it took a lot of time to finish so you'll have to plan ahead of you ever try this!

Some of my favs

So Monday nights we always sit at home with his mom and watch one of our favorite tv shows on Netflix and I guess tonight I was asking too many questions...
...maybe some of these will solve some of our arguments! LOL

***

We headed to San Antonio for the weekend to visit D's sister who just had surgery, and turned it into our Valentine's weekend get away.

we tried the Haus
[wasn't too impressed - maybe we didn't get the right foods & just went with what was safe??]

and went to Market Square

had dinner at SUSHiHANA

the next morning, got breakfast in bed!

and then on the way home got some Burger King
[he wore it the whole way home!]

it was relaxing and fun and far from our daily routine
it's so nice to get away!

I'm supposed to graduate with my associates this May which leaves me with just 2 years left of college to graduate with my bachelors and become a teacher (I plan to continue with school to receive my masters).

It's actually really scary to think about. That'll put me at 23 trying to be a teacher. I try to see myself in 2 years and I don't feel like I'll be mature enough to do that. I look at myself now and I have A LOT to learn and a lot of growing up to do.
- I don't know how to cook.
- I let my car go 6 thousand miles before getting an oil change.
- I still rely on my mom to fix all my problems.
- I cry because I am the only person paying all my bills.
Yes that's a part of growing up, I know. But I see everyone else I graduated with, their parents are paying for their schooling, or their car, or their freaking apartment (UGH!). For those of you who know my situation at home know that help just can't be given to me. 1 parent won't and the other just can't. I mean I get it, I guess.

I recently got a really good raise at work which means things should be easier! But somehow they remain the same. I guess it's like a 'what you have will never be good enough' situation? I don't have to a lot, but I help my mom with bills. I don't think many other kids (yes KIDS, because I don't feel like I'll be turning 21 in 4 and a half months) my age are helping their parents with money. It feels good being able to provide for my mom, she does everything in her power to provide for my sister and I. She is such a strong woman. She is my idol, my hero and I know that she'll live forever.

I've officially drifted away from where I started. The title to this blog WAS going to be I Think I'm Going to be a Good Teacher, but that won't work anymore.

I'm not ready to grow up and finish school. I'm not ready to be a teacher in a room with 26 kids all alone. I do it at work all the time! Shoot, at work I could watch 52 kids and know that I'll be perfectly fine (but I don't, because then I'll be out of ratio & the day care rep wouldn't appreciate that!) But having to TEACH 26 of them and get them to pass the 2nd grade to send them off to 3rd grade to pass the STAAR test... I don't think I'm ready for that kind of responsibility.

My boyfriend tells me that once he opens up his own dental practice I can be a stay at home mom with our 4 gorgeous kids in our huge house with our white Jeep & my red lifted Ford truck.

He has huge dreams for himself, for us. I love that about him.

Maybe one day I can be a stay at home mom... til I send my 4th child off to school, then get bored then wanna go manage Donny Ray's business!

HELLO LOVE.

So I've always thought of myself as really independent. And emotionally strong...
Not needing other people or objects to make me happy.
Being super chill and nontraditional in a relationship.
I proved myself wrong tho.

I was given the option to work a sleepover Friday night, Valentine's Day.
Knowing that I wouldn't be able to see my boyfriend all day Friday, I thought I'd be ok with it, and told my boss I would work, no big deal right?!
wrong.
What's happening to me?
Why do I feel like I need him by my side 24/7?
Why can't I go a day without seeing him before I get all annoying about missing him?

Friday-Valentine's Day:

I actually got to see my boyfriend for about 10min.
He just went on lunch break and I was about to have to go to work. Subway?
(I'll be getting in trouble for posting this one!)

The after school kids had "bags on bags" of candy.
Needless to say they were H.Y.P.E.R!
One little girl may have given me a huge Pixie Stick...

Then I worked the sleepover!
On Valentine's Day, we wear Pink.

oh! My best friend got engaged on Friday!!

Saturday:
Waking up after a sleepover is always the worst! So. Tired.

I finally went to the eye doctor.
I need glasses for night driving (which is what I figured)
apparently I need glasses when I'm on the computer or reading too
 (yes. I had to.)

And then, I finally got to do Valentine's Day!

I had someone tell me that her and her new husband have always MADE each other something for Valentine's Day. It's sweet, fun, and means more.
So we did!
I made the "52 Reasons Why I Love You"
and he made me some amazing Red Velvet cake and brownie cupcakes!

HB Steakhouse for dinner!

Sunday:
Went to "Brunch" with my dad and sis.
I wouldn't call eating at 3:30 brunch, but that's what Puerto Tacos calls it.
and the weather was AMAZING!

and a shout out to my country who needs our help!

2:03am

...because it's 2:03am and I can't fall asleep.

when reality becomes better than you dreams, it's quite hard to fall asleep.

so these are some of the things I do as the time passes...

10:00 comes around and I turn the tv to channel 43 to watch 'Nick @ Night' because "Friends" is now on!

But because I love it so much, I didn't fall asleep watching it.
so now it's 12:06, "Friends" is over, now "George Lopez" is on.

But because "George Lopez" makes me laugh so much, I'm wide awake!
So now it's 2am and I can't fall asleep.
so I think about my plans for Wednesday (bc it's Tuesday night as I type this), and think..
"I get out of work early tomorrow, I wanna hang out with Donny Ray, but I have homework due at 10pm.."
so I start my homework.
5 stories to read, 3 discussion questions to answer.
(my phone's been charging, and my alarms are already set!)

but now it's 2:21 and I'm distracted by this blog. so I'm gonna get back to my homework.

***

update on what I've done that past 20 min..
I answered a discussion question (1 down, 2 more to go!)
oh but in the middle of answering that I checked to see if I got paid
cha-ching! $$$
ok, back to work

***

3:28 and my homework is done!
if y'all actually read that last picture, you'd see that I had to discuss how I would teach 4th graders about symbolism?! sheesh that was hard to answer!

now that it's getting pretty close to 4am(?!) I REALLY should try to get some sleep.

So I check my emails that I get from Kohl's & Groupon at 3:30am.
I get on Facebook. except nobody is awake at 3:31am.
I get on Instagram. but the only person posting pics at 3:32am is Scott Disick

my boyfriend (along with the rest of Texas) is long asleep
and this is when it starts to get pretty boring.

So I turn on my country station, 100.3
and sing along til I fall asleep

Good night.

weekend update

something different for a change! a Country weekend for sure!

ok, so I honestly haven't had a weekend this fun in a long time.
Nothing too crazy because obviously I'm under age.. and still living at home.. and still have a curfew (given to me by my mother?!) ... way too many restrictions -_-

D and I went to the Humble Rodeo Cook Off and had a blast.

I swear I met ALL of his friends, and their mom's and their brother's and their sister's. It was a whole lot of people.

To be honest, I didn't really want to go. I don't like meeting new people but I knew he wanted to go so I sucked it up, put on my boots, and had a great time!

Drinks
None for me. I was the designated driver.

Food
Literally the nastiest nachos EVER.

Silly Pictures

A shout out to the cool kid who took a selfie on my phone

And a mechanical bull
LOL

There was some dancing in there too but, uhhh, he and I need a couple of lessons!

Happy Monday!

i tried!

I tried, I promise, I really did.

I tried not to be the girl who blows up everyone's Facebook with statuses about how great he is. I tried not to blow up your Instagram with pictures that I find so precious and to y'all are probably so lame. I tried so hard not to write a blog about him.

BUT I CAN'T HELP IT ANYMORE.
  • I tried not to be too excited because I didn't wanna hurt others more than what I already did.
  • I tried not to talk about him too much on Facebook and check in every time we were together, or every time we went on "date night".
  • I tried not to talk about him to my friends because I KNOW how annoying that can be.. I get it, y'all don't care.
BUT I DON'T CARE ANYMORE.
  • You told me not to make my business public to everyone because it just leads to drama, and trouble...
  • To keep my relationship private because no one else needs to know what I'm doing...
  • To keep them wondering and just let them see how happy I am without them knowing all the details.
BUT I WANT THEM TO KNOW.
  • I want them ALL to know how happy I am.
  • I want them to know how great he is...
  • How wonderful he is to me..
  • How I just absolutely adore him and cannot be more thankful to have him be all mine again.
I LOVE HIM!

 Whew! that felt good!
Ok, so now you all know, that I have the greatest man ever and I could not be any happier.

LIFE IS GREAT.

This year I didn't get to go trick-or-treating, or go to parties.
I had to stay home. I had to study for a history test for Fri morning...
